SAE J403 1018 is a Carbon Steel grade: Nonresulfurized carbon steel SAE 1018 (UNS G10180) to SAE J403 JUN2014, a chemistry-only grade for semifinished products for forging, hot rolled and cold finished bars, wire rods, plates, strip, sheets, welded tubing and seamless tubing. Carbon 0.15-0.20% and manganese 0.60-0.90%.
